Scottish Rite - ROTC Program for Colleges/Universities

The Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite recognizes second and third year cadets enrolled in the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) who have an academic standing in the top 25 percent of their class and who encourage and demonstrate patriotism by deeds or conduct during participation in extracurricular activities or community projects. The recipient receives three recognitions: a certificate suitable for framing, a medal engraved with the Scottish Rite Double-headed Eagle, and ROTC Education and Americanism; and a ribbon which, like the medal can be worn with the ROTC uniform.

In the Valley of Danville each year deserving and qualified students are nominated from Eastern Illinois University and the University of Illinois to receive this prestigious award. A representative from the Valley is present on campus to award this honor to the recipients.

These students are the future leaders of our American military and will provide the freedom to our country in the years ahead. We thank them for their service to our country.

The monthly board meeting was held at the Champaign Masonic Center this month and 3 new brethren were welcomed as Scottish Rite Masons. A fine presentation of a Masonic play based on the 1884 ritual of the 16th degree was also held.

A traveling degree day was held on February 4, 2012 at St. Joseph Lodge No. 970 in St. Joseph. The 4th and 28th degrees were illustrated. 7 new Scottish Rite Masons began their journey!

St. Joseph Lodge No. 970 will be hosting a Degree Day on Saturday February 4th in St. Joseph. All candidates are welcome. The 4th degree (DVD) and the 28th degrees will be portrayed. The candidates then will come to the Spring Reunion March 30 and 31st to finish up.

Petitions are available here on the Valley website and can be turned into the Valley Office with at least a $50 application fee. Total fees for the Spring Reunion are $174.

FUNNY”. This concert will be open to the public. Tickets are $20.00 each.
Candidates and their wives will be guests of the Valley.

Please join us for the Fall Reunion, November 4^th and 5^th. Hotel rooms are filling up fast. Please call soon.

The Tony Pace Show is Friday, November 4^th. Tickets are $20.00 each and are available from the Office or from the Learning Center. All candidates and their ladies will receive tickets to the Tony Pace Show and the Friday meal.

When you register with Credentials, you and your lady will get a ticket for Friday evening’s meal.

Our Spring Reunion date has been changed to March 30^th and 31^st. Please make your hotel reservation early.
